Acupuncture brought into US hospitals

Posted by on Feb 6, 2012 in Acupuncture | No Comments

US hospitals are increasingly including acupuncture as a part of outpatient care, especially for chronic pain and serious illnesses. Here in Portland, OHSU offers acupuncture in the Comprehensive Pain Center and as a part of their Intergrative Medicine program. A recent LA Times article mentions that hospitals are including acupuncture because of an increase in patient demand and an improvement in treatment outcomes for certain conditions. And more and more, people are recognizing a need for greater access to preventative wellness care such as acupuncture.

If you are interested in receiving acupuncture for pain, chronic illness, or other health concerns, contact Portland acupuncturist Boynn McIntire to schedule a consultation or appointment.  Visit her northeast Portland clinic online or call (503) 281-6909.
