Allergies and Depression

April, 13th 2011

Some research studies have found a link between seasonal allergies and depression.  Allergic reactions cause chemical reactions in the brain that result in a decrease in serotonin.   Allergies can also impede sleep, cause headaches, and result in general fatigue, which can contribute to depressive feelings.

If you suffer from allergies, depression, or a combination of both, acupuncture can help by increasing energy, reducing pain and inflammation, and stimulating the activity of the hormones that impact mood.  Herbal therapy can be used with acupuncture to address the symptoms of the allergies as well as the underlying factors of both depression and allergies.

If you live in Portland and are considering acupuncture for allergies or depression, call All and One Acupuncture in northeast Portland for a free consultation at 503.281.6909 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 503.281.6909 end_of_the_skype_highlighting Or schedule an appointment from the All and One Acupuncture website at www.allandone.com.
