Massage for low back pain

This is a great article published today in the New York Times about a research study exploring the efficacy of massage as a treatment for chronic low back pain. The study found that people who received regular massage for their back pain reported greater improvement in ten weeks than those who didn’t receive massage.

Personally, I think massage is amazing.  I find it to be both physically and emotionally therapeutic.  I receive regular massages for my various sprains, strains, and chronic aches from the BEST massage therapist, Ellee Thalheimer at Sweet Choice Bodyworks. I really don’t know what I’d do without a treatment from her every few weeks.  I always leave Ellee feeling wholly restored.

Of course, acupuncture wonderfully compliments and supports the benefits from massage (which is why I get both acupuncture and massage throughout the month).
